34th annual Lakeside Winter Celebration

Celebrate the Winter at the 34th annual Lakeside Winter Celebration at Ontario Beach Park, Saturday Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018!

This year, the celebration will feature a wide array of activities including the 8th Annual Lake Ontario Wine and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, February 10 and then continue on Sunday, February 11 with the “Polar Plunge” at noon. Additionally, Charlotte area merchants will be offering specials and discounts all weekend. All events will be held at the Port of Rochester Terminal and Ontario Beach Park.

This event is organized by the all-volunteer Ontario Beach Park Program Committee and sponsored by the City of Rochester, Monroe County, Port of Charlotte Merchants AssociationCharlotte Community Association and Wegmans.

 New this year:

Sip and Shop: in the Jetty at the Port. Enjoy a drink while shopping at a variety of vendors featuring gift items, last minute Valentine surprises and more. 12 - 5 p.m., for more info check out @Rocmadegoods on Instagram or Facebook for vending application and more info. 

Pre-Plunge Party: Join fellow plungers, supporters and sponsors at a pre-plunge gala in the 3rd floor glass atrium of the boater services building. Enjoy drinks, appetizers and surprises and a 360 degree view of the fireworks display over the river at 5:30 p.m. More info and registration at polarplunge.net.

The celebration will feature activities from noon - 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10th. All events will be held at the Port of Rochester Terminal Building and adjacent Ontario Beach Park. Saturday events include:

 Sunday, Feb. 11, noon  
On Sunday, Feb. 11th the fun continues with the annual Polar Plunge at noon. More than 1,000 winter enthusiasts are expected to dive into the icy waters of Lake Ontario to benefit the Special Olympics. Free off-site parking and shuttle service is available for all plungers and spectators. Shuttles from the Greece Arcadia High School parking lot, 120 Island Cottage Rd. to the Polar Plunge will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants and spectators are strongly urged to take advantage of this transportation option as parking at the Port is limited.
