Are you looking for ways to enrich and enliven the surfaces of your ceramics? Pattern and texture are the answer! In this workshop, participants will learn a variety of techniques to create and apply textures and patterns.

Are you looking for ways to enrich and enliven the surfaces of your ceramics? Pattern and texture are the answer! In this workshop, participants will learn a variety of techniques to create and apply textures and patterns.
Topics to be covered include:
Found Textures
Handmade Stamps
Textured slabs
Stencils
Paper Patterns
Layering Techniques
In addition, participants will also have the opportunity to make their own stamps and stencils which they will use with bisque molds to create tiles and dishes. All necessary materials will be provided.
Instructor: Melissa Moody
About the Instructor: Melissa Moody is a ceramic artist and sculptor from Spencerport, NY and serves as the Program Coordinator at GVCA. She holds an MFA in Ceramics from RIT’s School for American Crafts. Her work can be seen online at mlmoody.wixsite.com/melissamoodyceramics
Cost: $25 members/ $30 non-member.
