Come visit a historic crossroads community of the mid-1800's. The thirteen-acre site contains ten historic buildings filled with household and industrial items used by Ontario’s early settlers and a two-story barn which houses displays and artifacts. Guided tours will begin weekends starting June 4 from 1:30-4:00 through October 30. Sit and learn about the history of Ontario and its people from the 3-dimensional timeline outside the Crombe Exhibit Barn. The Museum is closed on July 4th and Memorial Day weekends. 10 buildings displaying the farming and ore mining history of Ontario, original one room school house, early settler Ruffell log cabin, train station moved from Town of Ontario, apple dry house, Warner farm house, Lock Up with its many uses and much more. Museum grounds are also open for self-guided walking tours using the informational signs outside of each building. Special events happening each month, from ice cream social to H.M. 64th Regiment of Foot, Ltd. reenactment to free Smithsonian Museum Day to craft and vendor sale.
