From Self-Portrait to Selfie: A History of Photography - SOLD OUT

*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 01/17/2018
January 17 is Museum Selfie Day, a worldwide event that encourages visitors to engage with museums by taking and sharing selfies.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Join us for a special after-hours tour of our current History of Photography installation, which provides an overview of the medium through self-portraits, as well as images of photographers and their equipment. Learn about the photographs on view from Associate Curator Jamie M. Allen, and then dive into the history of the selfie with Manager of Digital Engagement Kate Meyers Emery. Finally, test your skills at re-creating some of the self-portraits featured in the gallery.

*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
