2-Day Pack Basket Making Heritage Maker Workshop at RMSC Cumming Nature Center
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 05/22/2022
The traditional Adirondack Pack Basket is as functional as it is treasured. With expert guidance from our experienced basket maker, Barb Betrus, you can weave your own pack basket that is certain to become an heirloom. Read more about Barb's work in this recent article from Mountain Home Magazine. Participants will use both flat and flat oval reed to create a 22” high pack basket. All materials and necessary tools are included in the cost of the program, including harness strapping to complete the basket. Students will need to bring their own lunches, water, and snacks each day.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Most students will not finish in two days but will need to stain their basket at home. Staining will be demonstrated during class. Previous basket making experience is helpful, but not necessary!
