Art Experience aboard Narrated Lock Cruise - On The Colonial Belle

Colonial Belle & Stony Point Art Studio have teamed up to offer a unique experience!
3-hour Erie Canal cruise from Fairport through Lock E32 in Pittsford and back.

During the first 1.5 hours:
(Up to 25 participants, Teens/Adults, for ART/CRUISE experience)
Art workshop participants will be provided with tabletop easels, acrylic paints, and a variety of creative tools to explore their artistic potential. A dedicated and accessible area will be set up on the lower deck of the Colonial Belle tour boat to comfortably accommodate up to 25 adults/teens with views of the waterway creating an engaging environment. For Art/Cruise participants, the Art workshop will begin with a calming meditation session, guiding participants to connect with their inner selves while taking in the beautiful surroundings of the canal. This peaceful moment will set the stage for the creative process, allowing each individual to let their imagination flow freely. As the cruise progresses, participants will be encouraged to express their emotions and experiences through their art, engaging their senses, resulting in unique pieces that reflect their personal journey. Guided by experienced instructors from Stony Point Art Studio, participants will receive support and encouragement every step of the way. Whether someone is a seasoned artist or has never painted before, this workshop will foster a sense of community and creativity among all attendees. Accommodations and adaptive tools will be available. Join us for this unforgettable experience that combines art, relaxation, and the stunning backdrop of the Erie Canal.

“Cruise only” Passengers (up to 50 additional passengers for cruising WITHOUT the Art experience) These passengers will experience a relaxing cruise enjoying Erie Canal views and wildlife as we cruise from Fairport to Pittsford for the first 1.5 hours of the experience.
For ALL participants/passengers: When the boat arrives at Lock E32, our Captain will begin LIVE narration explaining the lock process and details about the lock using the onboard PA system for everyone aboard as the boat passes up and the down (approximately 25’ each way).
On the approximately 1.5 hour return trip from Pittsford to Fairport, the cruise will be narrated. Narration is (non-scripted) LIVE by the Captain and includes canal history, sights along the way, canal stories, description of canal structures, opportunities for passenger questions and much more!

(These 2 offerings give the opportunity for families/groups that may have a combination of people interested/not interested in Art and/or that may not be within the required age bracket needed for the Art experience to all participate in this canal-based activity at the same time. Children must be always accompanied by a parent/adult caregiver while aboard.)
Children ages 3 & under are FREE but do require a booking to be added to our US Coastguard required passenger count.
Bagged Snacks & both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks from our fully licensed bar are available for purchase aboard. Cash & Credit cards are accepted on the boat.
Per NYS Liquor Authority, Monroe County Health Department and insurance laws and policies, NO outside food or beverages (including bottled water) are permitted to be brought aboard.
