Ganondagan’s Living History, Hodinöhsö:ni’ History, Culture, & Traditions - Food & Fiber on Saturday, September 24 from 10 am to 4 pm.
Join us for a day filled of Haudenosaunee culture through traditional artist demonstrations, social dancing, storytelling, reenactors, games, activities, traditional food demonstrations and so much more. Learn about the interconnectedness of food and fiber through traditional art demonstrations including basket making, cordage making, cornhusk doll making and food demonstrations featuring traditional cornbread wheels. Experience 18th Century life at Ganondagan through Haudenosaunee reenactors in our full-size Seneca Bark Longhouse. Participate in activities and hands-on displays focusing on Wampum. Enjoy arts & crafts, hoop & javelin, guided walks, and gallery tours. Visit our Ganondagan Gift shop for handcrafted Haudenosaunee jewelry, art, books and so much more. Suggested donation $5/person; $10/family. Sponsored by the Rochester Area Community Foundation, with special thanks CRNY and Fairport PTA.
