Sponsored by Cornell Lab, Audubon and Bird Studies Canada, The Great Backyard Bird Count is an International program where technology is used to create a snapshop of bird sitings around the world. During the weekend of February 14th - 17th, bird enthusiast around the globe will be counting their bird sitings and recording them to help scientists better understand bird populations. Helmer Nature Center is hosting a birding walk to put our birds "on the map"!
Come to Helmer Nature Center and learn about the Great Backyard Bird Count and then take a guided hike on our trails in search of birds. After, come in, get warm with a light snack and log your results. Pre-registration required. Call 336-3035 or email andrea_monahan@westiron.monroe.edu.
