Head for the Cure hosted its first 5K event in 2003 in Kansas City. In honor and memory of Chris Anthony, his family started this grassroots movement that has now transformed into a nationwide effort to defeat brain cancer step by step. Head for the Cure's marquee 5K events serve as a beacon of hope and strength against brain cancer. Head for the Cure is committed to bringing these events to our community this year no matter what, to support clinical research and patient programs.
The funds raised through registrations, donations and sponsorships from our Rochester event will support brain tumor research and advocacy programs through the Del Monte Institute of Neuroscience. In addition, the event will also support our national beneficiary, the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (BTTC).

How does our 5K work? Well I'm glad you asked!
1. Register as a team member or individual here.
2. Between now and Sunday September 26th work to build up your team, host competitions between team members on who can raise the most donations, or if you are participating as an individual encourage your family and friends to join you!
3. If you have a connection to brain cancer we encourage you to share your story! You can nominate a caregiver in your life for the Legacy of Love award, nominate a current patient or survivor in your life for the Keeping the Faith award, or recognize someone you lost with the Celebration of Love award!
4. At the event everyone will receive a medal for participating and a VERY soft shirt. If you are in a top finisher in your age or gender group you will also receivve a commemorative plaque.
6. Encourage your friends, family, coworkers, or even barista to participate or donate!
