Spring Survival Foraging Class - SOLD OUT

Join Master Naturalist Chris Kieber and Herbalist Dave Kieber as they find, identify, harvest and prepare some seasonally available wild plants from Western New York. Building on previous classes held during the autumn, this class will feature spring/early summer plants. The folklore and uses of other common wild plants encountered during the day’s activities will be covered.

Information will also be provided on survival trapping. Several types of traps will be fashioned from available materials with discussion about setting techniques. No traps will be set and left active and the ethics and legalities of survival trapping/hunting will be emphasized.
The class will involve an easy hike with slight slopes and slow pace.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring your lunch.
