Step into a storybook world with your Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra! This Sunday matinee performance at Eastman Theatre brings the enchanting music of Sleeping Beauty to life in a concert perfect for families and music lovers of all ages.
Be whisked away by Tchaikovsky’s lush and romantic Sleeping Beauty Suite — filled with soaring melodies, shimmering waltzes, and the magic of true love’s kiss. The adventure continues with the playful Spanish rhythms of Manuel de Falla’s The Three-Cornered Hat, Suite No. 2 and the colorful soundscapes of Gabriela Ortiz’s Kauyumari, inspired by the blue deer of Mexican folklore.
And don’t miss the dazzling Karen Gomyo performing Mendelssohn’s beloved Violin Concerto — one of the most beautiful and virtuosic works ever written for the instrument.
