One great way to get your kids to eat more fruit -- and introduce them to the subtleties of sweet/tangy tastes -- is by taking them apple picking to a local orchard. Below are places to go and things to do for a day in the orchard all around Rochester.

Wayne County Apple Tasting Trail
U Pick your stops, U Pick the Way!Wayne County's 2024 Apple Tasting Tour is packed with new options for visiting and celebrating the apple! Virtual experiences to include an on-line app that has a fun game at each stop. The Tour features nine locations throughout beautiful Wayne County, each unique, as is the taste and texture of each of the apples. With so many places and options, U Pick your stops, U Pick the Way!
There are THREE ways to access the Apple Tasting Tour App. It is in the Apple App Store and the Google Play store as well as a web-based version at appletastingtour.stqry.app/.
G and S Orchards
Just 15 short minutes east of Rochester G and S Orchards is your source for you-pick and picked apples, berries and pumpkins. Enjoy the beautiful undulating country side and experience the great outdoors with your family. Varieties include: Gala, Macintosh, Honecrisp, Cortland, Twenty Ounce, Royal Empire, Northern Spy, Macoun, Fuji, Granny Smith, Crispin, Spygold, Jonagold, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Ida Red.
Wickham Farms
Wickham Farms is a great place to spend a day on the farm picking apples, enjoying delicious fall foods, and making memories! The farm has a beautiful 5-acre orchard with 13 varieties of apples. Honeycrisp apples are available to pick generally starting in mid-September and lasting until early October. Be sure to check the farm’s website for the most up to date apple picking information along with what varieties are available.
Wickham Farms offers complimentary hayrides to the apple orchard for all pickers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, the farm has 25+ attractions to enjoy including a corn maze, giant slide, 18-hole mini golf, jumping pillows, farm animals, apple cannons and much more!
Open 10am – 7pm everyday until Halloween except closed on Wednesdays.
Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards
U-Pick Apples now available at Becker Farms!
Open daily, admission required on weekends only no charge during the week. Come out and take a beautiful walk to our orchards Monday-Friday 11am-5pm. $6.75 per person for a 4Qt bag, everyone over the age of three needs a bag to go to the orchard.
Weekends in September and October we have our Fall Fun Festival. Admission required for everyone over 3 on weekends (including Indigenous People's Day). General Admission includes all activities, live music and apple picking or $5 voucher towards a pumpkin (pumpkins available starting mid-late September). Weekend Admission tickets available here.

U-Pick apples from mid September thru October. Bring the family for a fun-filled day in Marion! Come take home some delicious local produce or enjoy an afternoon selecting your own in-season fruit.
