Year after year, we bring the world here. Since debuting in 2012, the Fringe has drawn more than 750,000 visitors from all over the world to more than 5,000 diverse performances and events. In fact, Rochester’s not-for-profit Fringe has become one of the largest and most successful fringe festivals in the nation, the largest multidisciplinary performing arts festival in New York State, and one of the region’s most anticipated festivals each year. Join Blackfriars Theatre for its 75th Anniversary Season, honoring the legacy of 75 years of ambitious, local, professional theatre in downtown Rochester presenting Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! What's It All About? Determined to have his revenge on the lecherous judge who framed him, barber Sweeney Todd returns to London from exile. When he rents a room above Mrs. Lovett’s failing bakery, Todd’s thirst for blood inspires a new ingredient for her meat pies, and soon has the city lining up for a slice. With wickedly sharp lyrics, this tale of carnage is an enduring musical classic.

Welcome to a world of color and light. From the Guggenheim in Spain to the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the monumental and interactive walk-in sculptures of Architects of Air, designed by Alan Parkinson, have astounded audiences across the globe. Architects of Air has toured the luminaria since 1992 and visited 43 countries. The luminarium offers a dazzling maze of winding paths and soaring domes where Islamic architecture, Archimedean solid, and Gothic cathedrals meld in light and color. Located at the corner of Gibbs & Main, all days of the Rochester Fringe Festival.

A Little Scary Show is the tale of how Ted met the legend Leon “The Wizard” Rehan! Leon was a master variety performer who passed away in the Great Blizzard of 1888 after his final show! Every year his home town of Caribou honors his memory with a show. Little did Ted know what he was getting into when he got the invitation to perform that show! Rochester Fringe Festival for teens and up: Actor Patrick Fegley delivers a solo tour de force, effortlessly bringing to life every character in a small Jersey Shore town as he unravels the story of Leonard Pelkey, a tenaciously optimistic and flamboyant 14-year-old boy who goes missing. Leonard, a luminous force of nature whose magic is only truly felt once he is gone, becomes an unexpected inspiration as the town’s citizens question how they live, who they love, and what they leave behind.
