The goal of STEM 360 is to better prepare your students for the future. Through Robotics, campers will learn to think outside the box, problem solve, be creative, work collaboratively and adapt to new challenges. Students will be instructed by Mr. Joe Gallina, director of the award winning FIRST Robotics team 3015 Ranger Robotics. Mr. Gallina has over 9 years of experience with robotics and has been teaching technology courses for 15 years at Spencerport High School, this coupled with his innovative hands on approach, your “camper” will have a great experience and take with them valuable tools that will parachute them into the next school year and robotics season.This camp is designed for students in grades 9 – 12, that have basic knowledge of robotics, mechanisms and competitive robotics (FIRST or VEX). Using the VEX Robotics system for Mobility (drives, sensors and motors), students will design, build and test their solutions in a competitive environment. After completing Lab Safety Lessons early Monday morning, students will be given the game Challenge. The game will consist of an Autonomous and Tele-operated period. Teams will work in groups of three to complete the given challenge. Students will have access to the laboratory facilities, 3D printers, CAD software and VEX Equipment.
