A new exhibit, A Moo-ving History of Fairport’s Dairies, will be on display at the Fairport Historical Museum (18 Perrin Street) from July 21 until September 11, 2016, during regular museum hours.

Commerce and agriculture have been a big part of Fairport/Perinton’s history since their early days. Though the number of farms has dwindled through the years, the dairy business has been well represented in the village of Fairport and the town of Perinton.

This new exhibit at the Fairport Historical Museum includes artifacts, photographs and advertisements from more than ten dairies that called Fairport home in the 20th century.  Visitors will be able to take a journey back in time to see glass milk bottles from well-known dairies such as Welkley, Parkside and Clover Farms, read the Rose Dairy advertisement extolling the virtues of its new square milk bottles and learn about the “dairymen” who operated the businesses and contributed to the local community.

For museum hours and more information, visit www.perintonhistoricalsociety.org. Museum admission and parking are free.
