Jazz fans can enjoy music year-round at Eastman, from the award-winning Eastman Jazz Ensemble to ensembles ranging from intimate chamber groups to big bands. For decades, Eastman jazz has been synonymous with exciting performances, fresh new music and arrangements, and outstanding student performers.

The goals of this talk are to help professional voice users -- singers, actors, teachers and those in business and law -- learn about the important ways our voices can be supported for longevity. Topics will include learning how we produce voice, how to set up a plan to support and present our speaking voice so that our message can be " heard" and the protocols to continue a life with good vocal health and stamina and singing without injury.

The winner of the 2021 Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, among several other accolades, Canadian pianist Bruce Liu is a major new keyboard talent. He demonstrates a penetrating insight and maturity well beyond his years and brings a joyous freshness and spontaneity to his revelatory performances. For his Eastman debut, Liu presents a program of thrilling Chopin masterpieces.

Founded in 1941 by Emory Remington, professor of trombone for nearly fifty years at the Eastman School, the Eastman Trombone Choir is highly regarded around the world as one of the best ensembles of its kind. Remington established the concept of the present day Trombone Choir as a pedagogical extension of the private trombone class to include a musical ensemble experience. This concept has been imitated throughout most colleges and universities in the United States and abroad.

Every Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., an Eastman organ student demonstrates the sounds of the Italian Baroque Organ at the Memorial Art Gallery in a brief mini-recital. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission.

The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series returns in person this spring on Wednesdays, March 22 to May 17, 12:10–12:50 pm in the Hochstein Performance Hall. The Rochester Celebrity Organ Recital Series (RCORS) is a collaboration among the Rochester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the Eastman School of Music, WXXI, and various local churches. Together, these entities bring to Rochester some of today’s leading concert organists to perform on our city’s wide array of pipe organs. Three concerts comprise the annual RCORS performance schedule, with one event each season presented by a member of the Eastman organ faculty.
