WHERE: At Spotlight Studios, 3 Railroad Street in Fairport
WHO: For Performers age 16 through adult

This production is open to all performers age 16 through adult from the area! The goal is to have one teen cast and one adult cast.

You should only attend ONE audition date. If you are unable to attend any audition dates, contact the director at john.barthelmes@gmail.com to set up an alternate audition.

BRING:

• Completed Audition Form and Conflicts Sheet (download below)
  • Audition Form - print this out and fill it out to save time at auditions.
  • Audition Scenes - scenes to be used during the acting audition.
• A headshot or recent picture, which will not be returned
• A resume, if available

PREPARE:

Choose a scene from the audition packet to prepare and be ready to read lines at the audition. Scene packets can be downloaded from here: Audition Scenes.

REHEARSALS:

Use the audition form to fill out all potential rehearsals. Please be detailed. A rehearsal schedule will be created from these conflicts. Note that excessive conflicts will factor into casting decisions. A detailed schedule will be distributed after casting takes place. Cast members must attend all Mandatory Rehearsals.

There is NO cost for this production. Those interested must audition to be in this production. Cast members will be asked to seek out sponsors if possible.

DESCRIPTION:

Neil Simon's revision of his hugely successful play, The Odd Couple, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and their group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive's messy and ill-equipped apartment. As the game continues, Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Fearful that the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Olive invites her to move in as her roommate. However, Olive and Florence have VERY different personalities. Where Olive is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively clean, tidy, and obsessed with hygiene. Olive's easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence's highly-strung neurotic tendencies, testing their friendship to the limit. When Olive organizes a double-date with the Costazuela brothers, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.
