The City of Rochester’s Genesee River-focused festival. Roc the Riverway is an annual autumn weekend chock full of family-friendly activities and events that inform and inspire through up-close experiences with the legendary Genesee. Because the Genesee completes its legendary course at Lake Ontario in Ontario Beach Park, no Roc the Riverway Weekend is complete without events and activities at the lake. All of the family focused offerings are free or low cost

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
*Horse-drawn hayrides around Ontario Beach Park (Free) 12-3:00pm
*Professional pumpkin carving demonstrations from nationally renowned, award-winning carver and sculptor Eric Jones (and enter a drawing to take one of his masterpieces home! (Fee for Raffle) 12-3:00pm
*Decorate and take home your own pumpkin ($2.00 fee) 12-3:00pm
*Ride the historic 1905 Dentzel Menagerie Carousel ($1.00)12-3:00pm
*Enjoy delicious food & beverage and donuts, cider and other treats from Lake Ontario Winery and Cider Mill (fee) 12-3:00pm
*Score treasures from craft and merchandise vendors 12-3:00pm
*Get faces painted and balloon art from Grease Paint Alley Clowns (free) 12-3:00pm
*Marvel at near century-old cars displayed by the Lakeshore Model-A Ford Club (free) 12-3:00pm
*Tap your toes to live music from the legendary folk singer John Dady (free) 1-2:00pm
*Take a fascinating guided historical walking tour of the City’s Charlotte lakes-shore district (tour starts at 12:00 pm from the Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse, 70 Lighthouse St behind Holy Cross Church ) (free)
* Meet and greet wildlife exhibit brought by the Wildlife Rock-stars (an initiative of Bridges for Brain Injuries) (donations) 12-2:00 pm
*Tours of the historic Charlotte/Genesee Lighthouse, 70 Lighthouse Street behind Holy Cross Church ($5.00) 12-5:00pm
These Autumn at the Lake events and activities are presented by the City of Rochester, Monroe County and the Ontario Beach Park Program Committee.
In addition to these events and activities, there will also be opportunities hosted by establishments in the Port/Beach area over the weekend, such as:
Sat., Sept. 27: First Annual Charlotte Oktoberfest at Tropix (4775 Lake Ave.): Rick Palumbo’s Band at 2 p.m., Krazy Firemen from 3-6 p.m., and an Oktoberfest DJ at 6 p.m. Food, games, and other fun stuff too!
Sat., Sept. 27: Vine and Tap’s “House and Hops” Brunch (4768 Lake Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brunch serving starts at 10 a.m.; beer and cider vendors will offer tastings at 12 p.m.
