Beginning Flamenco Guitar

Bring your guitar and “travel” to Spain through music! In this class, we will explore the foundations of flamenco’s fiery guitar techniques.

Bring your guitar and “travel” to Spain through music! In this class, we will explore the foundations of flamenco’s fiery guitar techniques. This class will cover: rasqueados (highly rhythmic strumming patterns), falsetas (flamenco guitar solos), golpes (percussion patterns on the guitar), characteristic arpeggio patterns, and alzapua (a special flamenco thumb technique). Learn how to identify different styles of flamenco, such as tangos, rumba, alegrias, and bulerias, and gain a deeper understanding of the cultures that inspired flamenco performers around the world.
