Each barrel of bourbon ages a little differently. Two barrels made the same day, sitting next to each other will taste different when they are done. Now combine different kinds of barrels, different aging regiments and the possibilities are endless even without changing the base recipe. Sounds a little crazy right? Or maybe a little delicious. Come and taste through the history of Black Button's 4 grain bourbon. Taste 5 different expressions with Master Distiller Jason Barrett as he walks you through each batch and blend and how we turn local grains into great local bourbon.
Please note: This class will be held at Black Button Distillery (85 Railroad St, Rochester, NY 14609). Participants must be 21 or older.
About the teacher:
Jason Barrett is the youngest Master Distiller in the united states. Black Button Distilling is a reflection of his personality in liquid form and was originally conceived while he was working as a business consultant in Washington DC. Jason returned to his hometown of Rochester after attending several distilling schools across the country. He creates the whiskey recipes, blends the barrel aged products, oversees the operation of the still, balances the checkbook and manages sales. If you see him out in the community, make sure to say “Hello!”. He always has a story to share about what’s going on at the distillery.
