Comedy Improvisation: Follow the Fear

Have you wanted to try comedy improvisation, but your nerves seem to get in the way? Or are you an experienced player whose nerves have led you to rely on default characters to be sure you get laughs? It’s okay! Anxiety is a good thing in improv when you learn how to channel it into your scene work. When you allow yourself to be vulnerable, you open the door to realistic scenes where the funny comes naturally. In this class, you will play warm-up games, improv exercises, and short scenes that will boost your confidence on stage. You will learn how to make strong initiations, trust your instincts, and take risks with your characters and ideas. By getting out of your comfort zone, you will play through your fears and stop judging yourself. Not only is improv fun, but it is also a tool for life: it can make you a better listener, public speaker, and creative thinker.
Please note: This class is open to all levels of experience. Ages 18+.
