Join us on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. at WXXI’s studios (280 State Street, Rochester) for a special screening of Dinosaur Train. In Junior Conductors AcademyBuddy and his siblings become friends with a dinosaur who knows a lot more about dinosaurs than Buddy, but has some trouble making friends. Like all dinosaurs, their new friend Dennis Deinocheirus has his own dinosaur features. And, like all of us, he has strengths in some areas and challenges in others.
WXXI’s sensory-sensitive screening event will allow families to enjoy watchingDinosaur Train in a safe and inclusive environment. The screening will take place in a “lights-up, sound-down” environment so that kids can be themselves without worrying if someone will be disturbed by their noise or movement. In addition to the screenings, WXXI will have hands-on activities and crafts for the kids, plus community partners will be on site to share information and talk with parents.
The screenings are free and open to all families, but reservations are required and can be made online by going to our events page by clicking here or by phone at 585-258-0200.
This event is part of MOVE TO INCLUDE, a partnership between WXXI and the Golisano Foundation designed to promote inclusion for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Through programming and special events, WXXI and the Golisano Foundation look to build a more inclusive community by inspiring and motivating people to embrace different abilities and include all people in every aspect of community life.
