Edgerton Model Railroad Layouts Open House

Edgerton Model Train Display and Toy Train Show-9:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Edgerton Recreation Center. Free Train Room admission and parking, donations gladly accepted. Admission to the Toy Train Show is $5.00, children under 12 FREE with paid adult.Visit www.edgertonmodelrailroadclub for additional hours and information.
Visit historic 4 Season Model Railroad layouts originally built by the City of Rochester and the P.A.L. in 1950 and named Model Railroad Heaven.
Railroad layouts depict various seasons in the Rochester area as well as a whimsical winter scene that features the Polar Express train. Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends can also be found on the layouts as well as vintage and more recent O Gauge trains. Along with the trains there are several operating accessories, many of which are operated by buttons located along the edge of the layout for our visitors to operate.
There are also displays of vintage model trains and memorabilia for our visitors to enjoy.
We are constantly working to maintain and improve the layouts while maintaining the historic features of the layouts from 1950. In recent years, the backdrops originally painted by local art groups have been cleaned and repaired to bring out many highlights which had dimmed over the years. We have also updated our layout lighting with dimmable LED lights to bring out the details of the scenery and backdrops. Our current projects include continuing to update scenery, and improving operating accessories to make them more enjoyable. We have recently added culvert loader and unloader accessories to the Spring layout for our guests to operate and enjoy.
Parking and Admission to the Train Room are free, although donations to support the care, maintenance, and improvement of the layouts by the club volunteers are gladly accepted. Admission to the Toy Train Show is $5.00, children under 12 FREE with paid adult.
