Exploring Haudenosaunee Arts: Living History Event

Immerse yourself in the rich Haudenosaunee culture, heritage and traditions through story telling, Iroquois Social Dancing, and traditional & contemporary arts. Get transported back in time by Haudenosaunee re-enactors and storytellers in the bark longhouse.
Watch the creative process and craftsmanship of our skilled demonstrators in lacrosse stick-making, basket-making, beadwork, pottery, moccasin-making, and cornhusk doll making.
Enjoy participatory performances by our Iroquois Social Dancers, and experience the creation of environmental installations by artists including Tom Huff (Seneca/ Cayuga) Natasha Smoke Santiago (Akwesasne Mohawk), and Peter Jemison (Seneca, Heron Clan), plus our special, interactive water art project. And don't forget our traditional games of lacrosse, hoop & javelin and longball, and the special screening of the film "Paya: The Water Story of the Paiute."
