Family Day will be held at Rose Hill Mansion on Saturday, August 12 from 12 to 4 p.m. A free, family-oriented event, visitors can walk through the mansion at their own pace and try a variety of activities around the site.

The Freier family of local farmers will bring a pair of Devon oxen for demonstrations on the back lawn. They raise and breed Devon cows (the type once kept at Rose Hill Mansion) for both milk and beef and educate the public on agricultural history. The Ward O’ Hara Agricultural and Country Living Museum, the Bobbin Lace Guild, and Ithaca Maple Works will be at the event. Ontario County Dairy Princess Olivia Maslyn will be giving out free ice cream and visitors can try a hand-cranked ice cream maker. There will be a craft to try, Seneca County Living History Group will play old-fashioned games on the lawn, and there will be music during the day.

The Carriage House gift shop will be open during the event, where visitors will find historically inspired gifts and locally made items. Rose Hill Mansion is located at 3373 Route 96A, about a mile south of Routes 5&20, near Geneva, New York. For more information about the event please visit our website. Support for Family Day is provided in part by the Nelson B. Delavan Foundation Part A.
