Family Yoga

Our Family Yoga class is designed to help develop gross and fine motor skills and focus; all while having loads of fun! This class is intended a parent with one or two children, ages 2 to 6 years old. Infants and younger children are welcome to accompany their family as well.
Each class will begin with an opening circle of movement games and verses designed to help develop gross and fine motor skills and focus. Movement will be followed by reading of a book and working on a craft activity related to the day’s theme. We will then move to our mats for yoga. Yoga will include poses, games, breath work and meditation.
Classes will also include yoga songs, bean bags, play-silks, poses, calming breathing strategies and activities designed for improved motor coordination and self-regulation are all part of the class. We will begin by warming up our bodies, then active movement and games move us around the space. Class ends with a warm down and rest.
No prior yoga experience is necessary. Our studio is equipped with all the props you will need for class, but you are welcome to bring your own mat if you so desire.
