Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

Join us for a very basic introduction to Tapestry Weaving with a simple lesson on basket or plain weave and an emphasis on texture, fringe, & pattern.

Join us for a very basic introduction to Tapestry Weaving with a simple lesson on basket or plain weave and an emphasis on texture, fringe, & pattern. This is not an introduction to European Tapestry woven prior to the twentieth century. Small retro wall-hangings, coasters, and mini textiles will most likely be your finished piece. 

Please note: The basic tapestry frame that will be used in class can be rented after class, but it's not necessary. one week rental if needed.

About the teacher:
Courtney Craig is a surface designer who enjoys the studio environment and creating custom textiles for interior spaces. Elements of vintage, contemporary, and traditional design are her favorites to explore. Courtney is currently living in Rochester and being inspired every day from the local artisan community.
