Jackie Photography

When I was growing up, my grandmother was always taking pictures. I didn’t really take interest until
2013 after she passed away. As time went on, I got more invested and signed up for a class through my
church. During that time, I purchased my first camera, a Nikon D7100, which I still use today.

While my family and I were looking for a photographer, I met a wonderful woman who is now my
mentor. She recognized my eye for photography while looking at my pictures on Facebook. If it wasn’t
for her, I wouldn’t have started my business, Jackie Photography.

Through my church, I had the honor of becoming a Youth Leader. I would always hear the young girls
say they weren’t beautiful or good enough and it struck a nerve. I wanted my business to be significant
and to show these girls they were beautiful, that they were valued and priceless. I launched the
“Priceless Photoshoot” where I offered mini shoots to girls between the ages of 12 to 19. They picked
their favorite picture and were able to get it printed for free. After receiving their picture, they had to
place it in a spot where they could look at it every day and be reminded about the beautiful girl staring
back at them.

My vision through photography is to always empower people because they need to know their value
and to embrace their true beauty. With photography, people need to know that it’s not about their
appearance, it’s about their personality that makes the picture.

I empower people through senior portraits, family photos, headshots (both corporate and acting), and
event photography.
