Eliot Heaton, Geoffrey Herd, violin; Eric Wong, viola; Clive Greensmith, Max Geissler, cello; Esther Park, piano Say “bon voyage,” and join GMF artists for a trip to France as we explore the birth of a distinct French musical voice at the turn of the century. From the shimmering, languid modulations of Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1 to Ravel’s incorporation of Basque dance rhythms in his Piano Trio, new approaches to harmony, timbre, and other musical elements give tonight’s music an entirely unique sensibility.
