Join Zoo staff, docents and volunteers in the ECO Center as we focus on frogs. Explore the importance of amphibians in the ecosystem as indicator species, along with their plight (climate change, habitat loss, human encroachment, chytrid fungus). Learn how amphibians in conservation care can help to save an entire ecosystem and why preserving wetlands is vital in saving species.
Find out what can be done to help and how to identify amphibian species through sounds and photos. Activities will include docent bio-facts and touch-tables, keeper chats, leaping games and ideas for becoming a citizen scientist. Two Book & Beast programs will take place in the new Education Center classroom.
