The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts (GVCA) announces the return of its Keep the Arts Alive campaign for 2026, making this the second, year-long series to support arts and culture across the Genesee Valley. The campaign features a dynamic lineup of events including the debut of a signature gala, “Arts in Bloom”, midway through the year. All events are designed to celebrate local artists, foster creative connections, and ensure continued access to the arts throughout the region. “Keep the Arts Alive is about bringing together artists, residents, and businesses alike to invest in creativity and ensure the arts remain vibrant throughout our region,” said Morgan Hellquist, Executive Director of the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts. “As public funding for the arts becomes increasingly limited, our community partners, sponsors, and individual supporters are playing a more vital role than ever before.” Return events include Live from the Valley, a live benefit concert at Three Heads Brewing in Rochester; an annual square dance at York Central School; an extended haunted house experience on the Livingston County Campus in Mount Morris; and a venue for holiday shopping for those looking for exclusive gifts and one-of -a-kind creations. "Our first Keep the Arts Alive campaign showed us how much our local community is longing for connection through arts and culture,” remarked Hellquist. “We believe that growing this new annual program series will continue to strengthen the fabric of our region through exciting and enriching events, while offering new opportunities for artists and art appreciators alike.” All contributions help fund arts programming, grants, education initiatives, and outreach efforts throughout the Genesee Valley.
