The Miracle Worker, written by William Gibson, is the true story of Annie Sullivan and Helen Keller – who was stricken blind, deaf and unable to speak by a virus as a young girl. Not knowing how to help their child, Helen’s family pampered and fiercely protected her, taking her to many doctors, but to no avail. Then Annie Sullivan, a 20-year-old teacher who had lived in a blind school as an orphan, was hired to teach Helen. They found the much needed love that both of them craved and together, they made history.
