Monty Python at 50
*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 06/26/2019
Fifty years ago, five Brits from Oxbridge and an American animator came together to create one of the most irreverent and influential series in television history. Monty Python’s Flying Circus shed any semblance of structured narrative in favor of surreal sketches and strange characters that punctured British punctiliousness and mainstreamed a mix of high-brow and low-brow comedy that has influenced generations. Forever associated with Spam, lumberjacks, parrots, the Spanish Inquisition, and silly walks, the Pythons have left an indelible mark across two continents. Come to the Dryden as we present four Monty Python films on Wednesdays in June, but beware of killer rabbits!
