EVENT: Tragedy and Triumph The Mount Hope World Singers perform in collaboration with the Thomas C. Armstrong Middle School 5th grade chorus, guitarist Austin Wahl and story teller Mary Lee Miller. A reception with light snacks follows the performance.

On Saturday May 12th, the Mount Hope World Singers in collaboration with the Thomas C. Armstrong Middle School 5th Grade Chorus from the Wayne Central School District will present a concert entitled Tragedy and Triumph.
The Mount Hope World Singers will be accompanied by Cathy Cohen on piano, Alyssa Rodriguez on violin, Don Sherman on percussion and Austin Wahl on guitar.
The Mount Hope World Singers are volunteer singers from the Rochester area who are conducted by Brian White. Brian has worked with the Mount Hope World Singers since 2015, and is the Instrumental Director at the Aquinas Institute of Rochester.
Selections by the Mount Hope World Singers include folk songs, traditional melodies and newer compositions from a wide variety of countries and cultures, sung in their original languages.
The TCA Middle School 5th grade chorus, conducted by Kayleigh Cook, comprises 5th grade students from the Wayne Central School District. The chorus promotes healthy vocalization, ensemble performance, and a love of music in the future generation. Kayleigh Cook is a lifelong horn player and singer, and is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music as well as a member of the Mt. Hope World Singers.
Readings by Mary Lee Miller will be accompanied by guitarist Austin Wahl. Mr. Wahl holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Eastman School of Music where he is currently working toward a Doctor of Musical Arts.
Mount Hope World Singers is a non-religious community chorus committed to performing music from around the globe. The chorus uses the universal language of music to encourage peace and understanding among people of many cultures. The Mount Hope World Singers is an “Act of Faith” of South Church Network of Ministries. As part of its mission to create harmony in sound and spirit, MHWS frequently collaborates with other artists across Rochester to connect people of differing backgrounds through music and dance.
