Midnight Traveler - Thursday, April 25, 2019 6:30pm
When the Taliban put a bounty on Afghan director Hassan Fazili’s head, he is forced to flee with his wife and two young daughters. Over the course of their multi-year saga in search of safety, the family grasped onto the only means they had to assert control: their camera-phones.
As they experienced increasingly degrading circumstances, the family latched on to filmmaking as a way to not just survive, but retain their humanity. Midnight Traveler is a gripping vérité story made by a family on the run. Their unique access and artistic vision provide an intimate portrait of a loving family and the myriad of fellow travelers they meet on their odyssey.

Hail Satan? - Thursday, April 25, 2019 9:30pm
Chronicling the extraordinary rise of one of the most colorful and controversial religious movements in American history, Hail Satan? is an inspiring and entertaining documentary from acclaimed director Penny Lane (Nuts!, Our Nixon). When media-savvy members of the Satanic Temple organize a series of public actions designed to advocate for religious freedom and challenge corrupt authority, they prove that with little more than a clever idea, a mischievous sense of humor, and a few rebellious friends, you can speak truth to power in some truly profound ways.
As charming and funny as it is thought-provoking, Hail Satan? offers a timely look at a group of often misunderstood outsiders whose unwavering commitment to social and political justice has empowered thousands of people around the world.
