In May 2021 over 50 people from around the country shared with Tate DeCaro decisions and deeds they were proud of accomplishing during the first year of the pandemic. From huge life changes to the day-to-day tasks of simple survival, they did not just get by. They all found incredibly creative ways to cope. Taken together, the similarities were striking, the resiliency remarkable. Are We There Yet? An Illustrated Journey of Coping & Creativity During COVID-19 is a compendium of some of these reflections, paired with illustrations done by 20 artists in a variety of styles and mediums. Tate DeCaro will be in conversation with Christine Green. Tate DeCaro lives in and explores Rochester, NY. She is a reader and writer, loves working on creative projects, and is very excited to share the collaborative book she curated, edited, and helped illustrate, Are We There Yet? An Illustrated Journey of Coping & Creativity During COVID-19. Learn more at NewYorkTate.com, where she also hares book reviews and photos of her adventures.
