With intriguing insight and tender emotion, The Seagull plays comedy and drama on the knife-edge and explores the longing to be seen, heard, and loved. A cast of colorful characters are gathered at a lakeside estate in 1895 Russia — including a celebrated actress, her aspiring playwright son, and a young ingénue — and find their ambitions, loves, and fears flying high as they navigate art, jealousy, and passion.
