Dec 26 - 28: What does it mean to dream in a world that tells you not to? A mother's past. A daughter's future. A family's secrets. Trials of Beulah tells the extraordinary life of one woman, unfolding in a powerful trio of stories. This play is a haunting and poetic exploration of the legacies we inherit and the truths we must finally face.

From a childhood dreaming beyond the shadows of Jim Crow and her nine brothers, to a motherhood forged in love and tragedy, Beulah's journey is one of quiet resilience. The past erupts into the present when her daughter, Sarah, prepares to leave for college, igniting a fierce confrontation. Years later, Beulah's own sisters and daughter must unravel the scandalous mystery of their father's swift remarriage to the enigmatic Sister Mary Wesley. In the end, it is Beulah herself who must confront the ghosts of her own history in a stunning visual and auditory tapestry, piecing together her sketches of the life and the woman she became.
