This special program features an afternoon talk by author Susan Goodier, Ph.D. and light refreshments made from historic suffrage recipes.

Dr. Goodier will present Votes for Women: Examining the Woman Suffrage and Anti-Suffrage Movements through Political Cartoons. Using the medium of 19th- and 20th-century political cartoons the history of American women and their struggle to gain the right to vote will be examined. Following the talk, a selection of desserts made from historic recipes published in cookbooks produced as fundraisers for Suffrage organizations will be served.
