Woodblock Carving

In this class you will learn one of the oldest forms of printmaking-Woodblock Carving; a relief method, where wood is carved away to create an image.

In this class you will learn one of the oldest forms of printmaking-Woodblock Carving; a relief method, where wood is carved away to create an image. Students will watch demonstrations on each step--Creating an image, transferring the image to a wood block, carving and hand printing. You will then create your own wood block, carve it out and print. Students will leave class with prints worthy of framing! No experience necessary- beginners & intermediates welcome.
Please note: All of the class supplies will be provided for you- wood blocks, carving tools, paper and ink. Please come to class with ideas for your block! If you have your own tools or paper please feel free to bring them to class!
