Workshop for Young Authors and Illustrators

Sign up now to attend this free event for the families of young authors and illustrators. Bill Schoff, local poet and teacher, will keynote "Imagination and Expression." Attendees can meet guest author Kevin Kurtz and attend his workshop. Local art teachers will present workshops on various topics relating to illustration while local literacy teachers will offer workshops relating to various aspects of creative writing.
Students and parents can also learn about the annual publication of the Rochester Area Literacy Council, a local non-profit organization of literacy leaders. Every year the Council publishes student work and presents each student with a free copy of the full-color, professionally published book.
This is a fun-filled morning for families of aspiring authors and illustrators. Light refreshments will be served and students recieve a journal or sketch pad. It is easy to register; email Karen_Speciale@eastiron.monroe.edu with the names of attendees, school district, ages, phone number and email. Your confirming email will list the available workshops.
Time is growing short. You need to register by Friday, October 16. Workshop day is Saturday, October 24. The time is 8:45-12:00 and the place is French Road Intermediate School, 488 French Road, Rochester 14618.
