Have you ever wanted to write a memoir? Share your life stories with family and friends? Do you have a story to tell that might inspire or challenge others? This special workshop will provide you with the basic steps for creating a powerful and compelling memoir. First we’ll examine memoir composition and discuss key elements of anecdotal writing. Then, using handouts as a guide, you’ll choose a relevant theme for your memoir and select the first stories you’ll want to share. Following a timed writing activity, participants will discuss and critique their work. You’ll leave the workshop ready to polish and complete your very first memoir!
Mark Block is a semi-retired educator, classroom teacher, and trainer. He served as an adjunct instructor at Syracuse University and Monroe Community College where he taught English and Composition. Currently he writes feature articles, blog posts, and research papers for several publishers, including Content Writers in New York City.
