65th Annual Pultneyville Homecoming Community Celebration

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/19/2025
Steeped in tradition and history, the Wayne County historic hamlet of Pultneyville will be bustling with activity on Saturday, July 19th from 12noon-7pm as the greater community comes together to meet old friends and new in celebration of the 65th Annual Pultneyville Homecoming Festivities which promise to have something for everyone. Join us as we bring our community together for a fun run, historical walking tours, all vehicle parade, community picnic, live music, wine & spirits tastings, beer sales, AND MORE!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The day will start with a complimentary early morning Zumba Gold Class at Gates Hall, followed by a NYS Craft Beer Sale from 12 noon to 2 pm on the grounds of Gates Hall at 4107 Lake Road. Proceeds from the sale of products generously donated by Raise A Glass Foundation will benefit historic Gates Hall which will celebrate its 200th birthday beginning December 27th, 2025.

In cool lake breezes along the southern shore of Lake Ontario, the celebration will include fun, friend-raising and food available for purchase. Among activities will be a kid's fun run, a 3pm Parade, an afternoon car show, live music, games, picnicking and face painting in Centennial Park and an adult beverage tasting tent, a baked food sale to benefit Pines Peace and Pearl’s Pie Stand where slices and whole pies will be available for purchase which help to defray homecoming expenses.

Historical experiences will feature a complimentary Gates Hall Open House from 12-3pm, historical society exhibits at the W-PHS house from 1- 4pm, a guided Walking Tour of the hamlet at 1:30pm, and a special presentation on “Cobblestone Masonry” by noted speaker and historian, Gene Bavis. While such experiences are free and open to the public on July 19th, donations, as always, are gratefully accepted.

In keeping with the 2025 “Power to the Pebble” Homecoming theme, Bavis, will present a program about the three eras of cobblestone construction which will show closeups of some of the unique features of many types of area structures (not just homes).

While the topic of “Cobblestone Masonry” may be of special interest to many, it is also one about our shared heritage that celebrates the bounty of both field and shore used in cobblestone architecture which still today dots our landscape. While fewer in number in 2025, Williamson alone boasted 23 fine examples of cobblestone structures out of the 184 documented throughout Wayne County in 1979. The presentation will include slides customized to the immediate area which show unique examples of cobblestone construction. Gene notes that Wayne County is home to more cobblestone structures than any other county in the WORLD! All are invited to cool off after the parade and attend this free and open to the public Homecoming presentation on July 19th at 4:30pm in air-conditioned historic Gates Hall at 4107 Lake Road, Pultneyville.

Pultneyville Homecoming is sponsored by the Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society and a host of community volunteers. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and a well-filled picnic basket or to purchase available food items.  For details and a complete list of July 19th Homecoming activities, all are encouraged to visit the Homecoming website at www.pultneyvillehomecoming.com.
