Do you want to help us gather data and learn more about the diverse ecosystem we inhabit? You can be a citizen scientist!
This summer, we will be offering an array of activities celebrating the abundant biodiversity found here at the Cumming Nature Center. Along the way, we’ll be cataloging as many species as we can, collecting this data in iNaturalist. This type of cataloging project is called a BioBlitz, and it helps us collect useful data about the huge variety of living organisms that live around the nature center.
Join us between July 15th and August 15th and be a part of this fun and important work!
We have a variety of ways to get involved:
- attend one or more of our “Summer of Biodiversity” Wild Walks,
- download the iNaturalist app, hike the CNC trails on your own, and record what you see in iNaturalist,
- collect information while hiking and record it on observation sheets
