Want to make new friends and experience new things? If your child has epilepsy, they now have a spot where they can feel like they belong. Boys and girls ages 8-17 with epilepsy and their siblings are welcome at Camp EAGR!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This August 11-17, 2019 children can have the best week of their lives!

Register your child(ren) by paying your non-refundable deposit of $25 per child in order to save your spot. Registration opens February 15, 2019.

Come to Camp EAGR and enjoy a week of swimming, horseback riding, rock wall climbing, laughing and having fun with kids who also have epilepsy.

You’ll make new friends and will get to experience things you might not get to do anywhere else. Once you experience Camp EAGR, it will quickly become one of the best weeks of your life!

Epilepsy is a hidden disorder. Despite how common it is fear and stigma exist. It’s easy to feel isolated and alone.

But at Camp EAGR, everyone knows what it’s like to have epilepsy. You don’t have to be embarrassed by taking medications, having seizures, or having epilepsy. You can just be YOU.

Who can come? Boys and girls ages 8-17 and their siblings are welcome.

What if I’m older than 17? Ask about the possibility of being a Camp EAGR counselor or a Camp COAST camper for young adults ages 18+.

Where is it? Camp EAGR is held at the YMCA’s beautiful Camp Weona, half way between Buffalo and Rochester.

Is medical care available? Yes. Medical personnel are on-site 24-hours a day. This includes two RN’s and a neurologist who specializes in pediatric epilepsy. Should an emergency arise, Wyoming County Community Hospital is 16 miles away.

My seizures are/are not well controlled. Will I still fit in? Yes. You have something unique to contribute and will find something valuable about Camp EAGR, regardless if you have seizures every day or every 5 years.

What does it cost? Camp tuition is $750 for the week and includes all meals, lodging, and activities. A deposit of $25 is due at registration with the remaining balance due no later than August 2, 2019. Need-based scholarships are available; and children with OPWDD-eligibility may qualify for Family Reimbursement dollars (a separate application is required).

Are you accredited? Yes. Counselors meet all NYS screening requirements for health and safety and undergo our rigorous training program. The camper-to-staff ration is 3 to 1. Our location at Camp Weona is certified by the NYS Health Department and is accredited by the American Camping Association.

I want to come! Great! Apply today! Register your child(ren) and pay your non-refundable deposit of $25 per child. Once we receive this form and your application fee, you will be emailed further instructions.
