From watering your garden, indoor plants, or lawn to washing cars or outdoor furniture to flushing your toilet - rain barrels are for you! Join us to learn more about water conservation at the Montezuma Audubon Center (2295 State Route 89, Savannah, NY 13146). Participants will learn how to protect our watershed and conserve water through a presentation and will learn step by step how to make a rain barrel to take home. All supplies are provided including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools, hardware, barrels, and home installation tips. No experience is required. This is a family-friendly event, all participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. An email will be sent to all registrants prior to the event with additional preparation information.
Only one ticket purchase is necessary per rain barrel, you are welcome to bring guests along with you.
Participants will need to transport their finished rain barrel once the workshop is over - please plan accordingly. The barrels hold 55 gallons of water and are approximately 24 inches in diameter and 37 inches in height. If needed, the Montezuma Audubon Center can hold your barrel for you for up to a week after the workshop to allow for transportation coordination.
