“There is hope. We don’t have to live these lives of isolation.” Join film director Amy L. Erickson for a special film screening and witness the healing power of art. Visceral: Transforming Trauma through Theatre tells the stories of four people who are living with the impact of post-traumatic stress (PTS). Through performing in musicals, dramatic theatre, and Shakespeare productions, they find connections to others and recapture their vital life force.  After the screening, we will explore similar themes by engaging in a close-looking experience with an
artwork in MAG’s collection, followed by a therapy demonstration and activity led by Erickson and theatre therapist Nancy Smith-Watson of Feast of Crispian, a non-profit organization that helps veterans be heard and seen in the expression of their thoughts and feelings and ultimately reconnect with their sense of self-worth and their communities. This program is free and includes museum admission.
