Discover the fascinating world of “souping” film as we explore altering film emulsion to reveal unique effects using various acidic solutions. This engaging two-day workshop offers an excellent opportunity to explore the creative process behind film manipulation and understand the concept of "souping" film and its impact on the emulsion. Participants will learn the art of "Souping" film through two distinct methods.
Additionally, we will cover the essential steps of processing 35mm film in a traditional darkroom setting and then scan negatives using our digital arts studio. No prior experience is required, making it suitable for all levels of experience. Unleash your artistic potential and join us for this captivating workshop to better understand the art of "souping" film. STUDENT MUST BRING one roll of 35mm film that has already been shot and one roll of unexposed film (2 of the same). A pre-souped roll of HP5 will be provided. Please bring a thumb drive or external hard drive to class. Each student will receive a 35mm reusable Kodak camera to keep for future souping.
