-Rochester, NY has the highest Deaf population in the world. It's time to learn the language that will bring us all closer together; so get ready to learn the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) through the fun of socialization! You'll leave with a new appreciation for the language as well as resources to help you continue to grow as a signer.
Participants will focus on mastering the basics of finger spelling, facial grammar, vocabulary and conversational phrases necessary to hold a beginning-level conversation in ASL. This class will also take a look into the rich world of Deaf culture and teach culturally appropriate ways to interact with Deaf people.
