The use of light in various ways is what makes an ordinary image become extraordinary. Discussions and examples of 6 categories of natural lighting situations will be investigated including Chiaroscuro, Radiant, Dramatic Shadows, Silhouette, Accent Light, and Rim Light. Properties of light and how to meter them will be discussed using our in-camera reflective meters as well as hand-held incident meters. There will be plenty of hands-on experience photographing with these varied lighting situations during this class.
